Language
Language refers to the use of words and/or symbols to communicate with others.
Language can be spoken, written, signed or picture-based.
Children develop their language skills over time, using and understanding increasingly complex sentences and vocabulary as they get older.

Language skills involve the ability to understand the meaning of language, such as understanding information that people give us, questions or stories.
It also involves how we use words and sentences to express ourselves in different ways so that we can share our thoughts, feelings and ideas with others.
Children can have difficulties developing their skills in any of these areas.
