FAQs

  • Does my child need a referral to be seen?

Yes. To access Speech-Language Therapy support in Germany, your child must first be seen by their paediatrician.  They will discuss your concerns with you and then provide a referral ("Rezept" or "Überweisung") for Speech-Language Therapy if required. The referral will specify the number and length of therapy sessions your child will initially receive.

If you would like to discuss your concerns with me initially before contacting your paediatrician, I provide free, short telephone consults. Please contact me for further information.

  • Will the cost of Speech-Language Therapy be covered by my private health insurer?

The service costs may be covered in part or full by German or International private health insurers if Speech-Language Therapy is included in your insurance cover.

Clients with private health insurance are responsible for understanding their own insurance policy and the benefits that it provides. A quote for service can be provided on request to submit to your insurer for approval.

  • Will the cost of Speech-Language Therapy be covered by my German public health insurance?

I am a private Speech-Language Therapy provider. Costs of the service provided are not covered by public health insurance companies in Germany.

Publicly insured clients are able to access my services as self-pay clients ("Selbstzahler").
