I am an experienced Speech-Language Therapist and am committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based speech, language and literacy services to the English speaking community in Munich. I qualified in 2011 with a Master of Speech Language Pathology from the University of Sydney, Australia and received the Faculty of Health Sciences Dean's Scholar Award for graduating top of class.  I am a native English speaker and fluent German speaker and have been officially recognised as a 'Logopädin' by the Regierung von Oberbayern.

Throughout my career working for the Ministry of Education in New Zealand and as a Specialist Speech-Language Therapist within the National Health Service (NHS) in England, I have gained extensive experience supporting children and young people aged 0-18 with a range of speech, language, communication and literacy needs.  My previous roles were within a multi-disciplinary team working with other professionals including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Paediatricians, Educational Psychologists as well as specialist teaching staff. I have worked in a variety of settings including homes, preschools, mainstream schools and schools/additionally resourced classrooms for children with complex disabilities.

I established my private paediatric Speech-Language Therapy practice in 2019 and currently live in Munich with my husband and two children. My main areas of clinical specialism are Developmental Language Disorder and associated written language difficulties in school age children and bilingualism. I am an ambassador for RADLD (Raising Awareness of Developmental Language Disorder) and have published a case study and book review in my areas of clinical interest. I am also a trained administrator of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and have many years experience working as part of a multi-agency Autism assessment team.

As part of the continuing professional development requirements for Speech-Language Therapists,
I regularly attend workshops, seminars and conferences and participate in Professional Interest Groups.

Some of the approaches I am trained/experienced in include:
  • Hanen 'It Takes Two to Talk' parent training programme
  • Shape coding
  • Colourful semantics
  • Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme
  • Lidcombe Programme of Early Stuttering Intervention

I am also an experienced clinical educator of Bachelor and Masters degree level Speech-Language Therapy students. I am a certified member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the United Kingdom.
I can provide evidence of my working with children police checks on request.
